Butterfly Ceiling

I made a visit to one of the community centers in Cottage Grove and made this butterfly discovery in the lobby. It certainly was a fun idea for the ceiling.

Largest Bumper Sticker

You are looking at the Twin Cities biggest bumper sticker. Yet, I'm really not sure how safe it is to bungee a wooden board to the back of your vehicle. I've read the sign several times and I believe the intent of the message is pro-health care, but honestly, I have no idea what the message is really trying to say. Whatever it is, I found it worthy of a photo.

Flinging Fun

I've seen these at a few parks in the Twin Cities, they are Frisbee golf courses. I spoke with someone at the park who was playing, there stores that sell competitive items and leagues for anyone to compete in.

842 Smith Avenue

In the past, this was a hardware store found on Smith Avenue on the West Side of St Paul. Today, it appears to be vacant. I don't recall the name of the old hardware store, though if I were to guess, it was called Smith Avenue Hardware.

Hello, Is It Me You're Looking For?

Yep, I was spotted by this scenic onlooker while taking his photo. It was a classic moment in camera versus binoculars.

Top Of The Falls

While not as scenic, this is the top side of the Minnehaha Falls, but if you look closely, down at the bottom, you can see the onlookers viewing the falls from the much more famous side.

Lone Cardinal

The Snow Maze

Halloween you'll find the corn maze. During the winter months in the Twin Cities, if you look hard enough, you'll find a snow maze. Very large blocks of snow laid out in a large area, made for a short bit of entertainment outside in the cold weather day.

Under The 35W Bridge

Contribution photo from Bryan B of the 35W bridge that crosses the Mississippi River. If you recall, in August 2007, the 35W bridge collapsed during the evening rush hour traffic. Many lives were lost, people were stunned at what happened. They have since rebuilt the 35W bridge and things are back to normal. I have not personally visited the bridge yet, but must do so one of these nights. It makes for some great photography. Thanks Bryan for the photo.

Vulcan Snow Sculpture

This snow sculpture had to be inspired by the Vulcans of the St Paul Winter Carnival, the arch nemesis of King Boreas.

Monsters Under The Bed

There really are monsters hiding under the bed. Another great snow sculpture from a local artist that was created during the St Paul Winter Carnival.

Wanna Go For A Ride

One of the clever snow sculptures that was created during the St Paul Winter Carnival. All of the snow sculptures were housed at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds.

Performing Arts

I like to photograph others while they are taking photos, just in case they aren't in many photos.

Glass Ceilings

Inside the old Minnesota World Trade Center Building, you'll find a wonderful water fall that was featured here a week ago. Directly above the fountain, you'll find a window to the sky.

Theme Day: My Favorite Part Of Town

It's no secret where my favorite part of town is, I grew up on the West Side of St Paul. I'll always have a found memories of my home neighborhood. The Green Stairs are no more as they have collapsed during a storm, but the spectacular view from here remains.
