Wood Silo
This silo is a storage bin that holds up to 1000 pounds of wood chips. Which is the amount the District Energy plant burns in one day. The clean energy power plant is used to create electricity, heating, and cooling for the St Paul downtown and nearby areas. In the past, I've referred to this power plant as the 'smoke factory'.

Pregame Tailgate
Before each Vikings games, as I'm sure happens in every city hosting a football game, there are several designated tailgate lots. In these lots they allow everyone to grill, drink beverages and party before the game starts. The designated lots also provide port-a-potties and a barrel to dump your hot coals into. There is an extra cost to park in these lots, $55 dollars to be exact. Quite steep if you ask me, but a couple blocks away, in lots that do not allow tailgating, you'll pay $20-25 for parking.

Return Of Randy Moss
My wife had surprised me over the summer by purchasing tickets for the Minnesota Vikings versus Dallas Cowboys football game. Little did we know we would be there for Randy Moss's return in a Vikings uniform. There was a lot of excitement for Moss today. Lots of number 84 jerseys and the crowd even chanted his name during the TV timeout at the start of the game. The Vikings were the victor by a score of 24-21.

Painted Purple
If you've visited the Metrodome in the past, or at least prior to the Minnesota Twins leaving the stadium, you may recall the support beams were painted red. Now that the stadium is solely the Vikings stadium, the dome has had a makeover. The beams, railings, doors, some of the walls are now Vikings purple in color. There has been quite a bit of changes made, which makes me wonder why the need for a new stadium now?

Contrasting
I've photographed this particular section of roof on the St Paul Public Library in the past. There's just something about it that I like. I do like the contrasting colors, plus the two different textures between the red roof and the building behind it. Throw in 50 or so pigeons landing on the roof and I had to photograph it again.

Theme Day: Graffiti
Greetings to the City Daily Photo community as you make your way around the Graffiti theme day photos for October. It's amazing what you'll find under a a bridge in an area that doesn't get much traffic. All that you can find under this bridge is a small stream and a walking path. It's quite an attraction for the local graffiti artist and vandals.
