The theme day for October 2008 is 'lines'. I found today's theme day in the City Daily Photo Community to be one of my favorites of all of the theme's I've participated in. When one goes out and specifically looks for 'lines' to photograph, they can be found everywhere! I was looking through my archives and found many examples that I could have easily posted today. I opted for something a bit on the unusual side as I often like to do. If you've stopped by to read the description today, hopefully you're wondering what this is making those lines. Perhaps you have it figured out, perhaps you have an idea what it could be but aren't quite sure, perhaps it's not so clear. Perhaps I'll show you what it is tomorrow.
Stop by the other cities participating in the October Theme Day via the links below this photo. Do remember that there are timezone differences between the other cities. Or you can head over to the portal page to see a thumbnail view of blogs that have posted their 'lines' photo.

Oh goodness, and I came here because I wanted to find out what it was and what was causing the pretty lights! ;D
ReplyDeleteI love unusual photos - can't figure out what it is though ....
ReplyDeleteI haven't figured it out but I love the photograph. Beautiful lights and lines. I'll come back later to see what it is! And when I do doubtless I'll say 'oh of course!'
ReplyDeleteWhat is that? Is it your car's radiator? Your computer's cooler? No idea..
ReplyDeletePretty coppery metal, whatever it is.
ReplyDeleteA great photo for its composition and its colours. Also because it pictures a mysterious object and is in theme with October's theme "Lines".
ReplyDeleteWhatever else it might be, Slinger, it is sure beautiful. I love a mystery and a great photo with a design emphasis! You are right, this has really been a great theme and judging from the thumbnails I've glanced so far, I think its brought out the creativity in everyone. Happy October!

Seattle Daily Photo
great photo!
ReplyDeletemy first thoughts were a radiator but then a line of after-dinner mints but now I'm not so sure at all.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I think it's great we can't figure out what it is... makes it extra fun. I love the colors. I want to say it's something computer related (like part of a heatsink), but I'm probably way off.
ReplyDeleteStunning! Thanks for your comment at Sydney Daily Photo I’m not near my computer at the moment (have a visit to see where I am!), so sorry for not commenting earlier.
ReplyDeleteNeat, but no idea. Maybe part of an air conditioner or big fan type thing?
ReplyDeleteA beautiful pick among your photographs
ReplyDeleteIt will have me think and wonder about its origin allday.. I 'll come back tonight.
Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteCreative and mysterious! Who could ask for anything more. Looks like an accordian file folder. You should give a postcard prize to the most creative answer!
ReplyDeleteI love this. Looks like some kind of a rack with lights behind it. I am curious to find out!
ReplyDeleteGood interpetation---I like it. MB
ReplyDeleteOops I signed with the wrong blog. Oh well. This is the right one. MB
ReplyDeleteIt does loook like a laptop cooling system. Whatever it is, it's certainly beautifully coloured backlight lines.
ReplyDeleteI'm going for a heatsink
ReplyDeleteVery original work, which we expect from you. Even before I read all the comments my guss was a heat sink on some electronic equipment.
