I know many of you have been seeing this tragedy on the news tonight. My heart goes out to those caught in the bridge collapse and their families. My fellow local bloggers are all safe, their families. I have a few photos of the aftermath from a few local photographers that were close to the bridge and have given me permission to post their photos. Thank you again.
This Interstate 35W bridge crosses the Mississippi River to the north of downtown Minneapolis. This is a major road for travel into and out of downtown and will greatly effect the city and surroundings for many years to come. My heart goes out to the commuters and their families.
Very detailed photos by Noah Kunin who lives closest to the bridge.
Photo set from ebrant78, lots of incredible shots

Wow... I'm still speechless.
ReplyDeleteSlinger, I'm so sorry. I've been so concerned this evening too about you and the others of our Daily Photo group who live in your area.
ReplyDeleteI've been praying and will continue.

I've been watching this all evening and I'm in total disbelief! It must have been so frightening for them! My heart goes out to the entire community.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea until I read Carol's blog. I am glad you are all safe. My deepest sympathy forthose who have lost love ones. I am thinking of you and your city
ReplyDeleteStunning, isn't it? Can't quite believe it, and I dread the morning's news. Take care! Kate
ReplyDeleteWoke up to see this on CNN this morning. Terrible and I hope everyone's ok.
ReplyDeleteI'm going through my TC friends, to make sure they're all safe. Thanks for updating about the other bloggers.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it and watched the aftermath on television. I thought terrorism but that was quickly discounted. Still it fell and that is something awful. I always have some misgivings when crossing any bridge -- in the back of my mind is this fear of ending up in the river below. I suppose it happens to all of us. I am glad that you and your family and the rest of the CDP family in your city are safe.
ReplyDeleteYour set of photographs are equally stunning.

It's so sad. I saw some photo by Noah Kunin very impressive. The bridge seems collapsed without any reason other than to be bad disegned. I'm so deeply sorry about what happened.
ReplyDeleteAm glad for those who are safe, thinking of you folk.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a tragedy. I noticed a school bus on the bottom of the bridge, wonder if any children were inside. Awful!
ReplyDeleteSlinger, your photos bring it home all the more. It feels like this happened to all of us.
ReplyDeleteThe television pictures are hard to comprehend but yours bring it home, as Annie says.
ReplyDeleteSo glad all the CDP bloggers are safe and know we are all thinking of you and for those who have been affected by this horror.
Wow - I haven't seen any TV so your photos are shocking - unbelievable that an entire bridge could just collapse like that. I'm so glad you are safe - my heart goes out to all in Minneapolis, and aches for those who are lost.
ReplyDeletethanks for posting these, my thoughts and prayers are with you out there...
ReplyDeleteThese are great closeup photos. I know they don't do it justice, but thank you for sharing them. Glad you all are okay.
ReplyDeleteI saw yesterday on TV that horrific accident in Minneapolis. What a terrible tragedy. I am glad you are safe. I am so sorry for all the victims and families who may have lost a loved one.
ReplyDeleteSlinger - hard to imagine this! When in college, I used to live very close to the bridge. I've been watching the webcast of KSTP television all day. So glad you and all of the CDP folks are safe!
