35W Bridge In Minneapolis Collapses

I know many of you have been seeing this tragedy on the news tonight. My heart goes out to those caught in the bridge collapse and their families. My fellow local bloggers are all safe, their families. I have a few photos of the aftermath from a few local photographers that were close to the bridge and have given me permission to post their photos. Thank you again.

This Interstate 35W bridge crosses the Mississippi River to the north of downtown Minneapolis. This is a major road for travel into and out of downtown and will greatly effect the city and surroundings for many years to come. My heart goes out to the commuters and their families.

Very detailed photos by Noah Kunin who lives closest to the bridge.
Photo set from ebrant78, lots of incredible shots

  2. Slinger, I'm so sorry. I've been so concerned this evening too about you and the others of our Daily Photo group who live in your area.

I've been praying and will continue.

  8. I can't believe it and watched the aftermath on television. I thought terrorism but that was quickly discounted. Still it fell and that is something awful. I always have some misgivings when crossing any bridge -- in the back of my mind is this fear of ending up in the river below. I suppose it happens to all of us. I am glad that you and your family and the rest of the CDP family in your city are safe.

Your set of photographs are equally stunning.

  9. It's so sad. I saw some photo by Noah Kunin very impressive. The bridge seems collapsed without any reason other than to be bad disegned. I'm so deeply sorry about what happened.
