I do believe this water tower in my city could be the oldest in the town. There are several others, but they are in much better condition that this one appears to be in. There is something about water towers that can give a city character. I'm not sure if this water tower will be torn down or not. It sits on the edge of a lot that is soon to be destroyed and new living complex going in. It would be a shame to lose it, but perhaps it's not going anywhere. If it does, I have my picture of it and now you do to.
Is it still in use? If not, I bet...bye, bye. Have you ever climbed a water tower?
ReplyDeleteIf there will be a residential neighborhood placed here it might be just as well for this water tower to be disposed of. Although they are interesting landmarks in some areas, they seem unsightly next to homes and yards, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteWe don't have many water towers out here. I remember Minnesota having at least one in almost every town. I like the way they look.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if this one is still in use. There is a newer looking one about three blocks away from this one, so perhaps it is just for looks. But yeah, they can be an eye sore, however they are needed for getting water to our homes around here.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like most about water towers now are all of the attachments that are growing off of them now for the cell phone users. I notice them, but I went to school for electronics, so them sort of things stand out too me.
